Course Directors:
Ramzi Mulki, MD
Stephen Kim, MD

Location:
ASGE IT&T

ASGE’s First-Year Fellows Program is a dynamic, interactive endoscopy experience, designed to immerse participants in advanced learning through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and expert-led sessions. With small, focused learning groups, participating fellows are assigned to groups: Scope Troopers, Endo Explorers and Precision Probes. Each group will master essential endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, while being introduced to key concepts in gastroenterology, pathology and terminology. Sessions will integrate cutting-edge technology and innovative techniques to ensure participants leave with practical skills they can immediately apply in their clinical practice. To maximize the in-person learning experience, prerecorded lectures must be viewed prior to participation as part of the comprehensive curriculum.

This in-person program option will be limited to the first 125 registrants for personalized instruction and collaboration. However, ASGE membership ($75 for a three-year membership) is required, so please view this page to get started.

For additional program dates, check out the event calendar

See AGENDA for prerequisites.

Participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamental principles of upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, focusing on procedural techniques and patient safety protocols
  • Apply knowledge of GI pathology and endoscopic terminology to clinical cases and real-time decision-making
  • Be introduced to and practice hands-on general endoscopic technologies in guided, practical sessions
  • Enhance collaborative learning and peer engagement in small group-based modules
  • Incorporate the latest evidence-based practices into endoscopic procedures to optimize patient care
